Ever wonder if it were possible to be one with God ? As humans we think to ourselves that God is so far set apart from us that we can never achieve that oneness with God. Throughout the book of John, Jesus mentions that he is one with father and he does what the father "God" does. He also tells his disciples that if you've seen me , you've seen the father. Another words if you've seen Jesus, you've seen God. In John 17:20 when Jesus knew he was leaving this world, here is part of his prayer that he prayed for all people:
"I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me."
--John 17:20
Based on what Jesus prayed for, it is possible to obtain oneness with God. It's what God WANTS!!!. Amazing uh .. Look at what it says in Hebrews 2:11:
Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.
--Hebrews 2:11
Here again Hebrews is indicating we and God are from the same family because it is God that makes us holy. Being one with God also has one more awesome benefit that Jesus expresses in John 15:4:
"If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my -Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, .."
--John 15:4
Be Blessed
